The Cauliflower - Brassica-botrytis  , Family:  Cruciferae

Cauliflower plants belong to the cabbage family. It is rich in Phosphorous, Potassium, Calcium,  Proteins, Carbohydrates, Vitamin A, B1, B2 and Vitamin C and contains minor amounts of Sodium, Folic acid, Iron and Niacin.

Cauliflowers are a very good source of fiber. Eating cauliflowers regularly improves colon health, helps bowel movement and stabilizes the stomach. It is best eaten lightly steamed or delicately cooked which helps maintain its healthy benefits. It is alkaline in nature and helps cleanse and detoxify the small and large intestines.

Cauliflowers are recommend for women who are pregnant as it has a lot of essential minerals, salts and folic acid. It helps in maintaining and improving the blood count.

Drinking half a glass of cauliflower juice before going to sleep helps in chronic constipation.

It is rich in many essential minerals required for a healthy skin and hence helps itchy skin conditions. Add it in the diet or run its juice on the skin , leave  on for an hour or son and then wash off , to find improvement.

Fresh cauliflower juice ( apx. 3 tablespoonful), taken early in the morning regularly, is useful in healing gastric ulcers and helps heal bleeding gums.    

Raw cauliflower ( a few pcs ) chewed every morning helps cure piles and prevent vomiting. Try it for a week to ten days to see an improvement.

The vegetable is rich in Vitamin C. This helps in boosting immunity and helps prevent flu.

The cauliflower leaves are a very rich source of vitamin A. This naturally occurring vitamin A is very useful in helping prevent and healing night blindness, chronic rhinitis and dry itchy skin. Take half a cup full of juice of these leaves every day for a month or so to see  marked improvement.

 

Precautions

Too much cauliflower can cause flatulence and gas. To prevent same, it is suggested that a little fresh ginger juice may be added to the vegetable while cooking it.
